Hello
I have the next problem. I execute a --> gzip -f -r / with the root user..... I stopped at the moment, but I lost the connection to the server. Now when I try connect with my user this work, but when do a su - Centos tellme that the password is incorrect for the user root.
The most probable is the file of the password where is encripted the root passwdord has been "gziped" (and another files:
/usr/openv/man/man1/nbjm.1.gz
/usr/openv/man/man1/bppldelete.1.gz
/usr/openv/man/man1/bplabel.1.gz
............)
How I can uncompress this files?...... I think the solution is a livecd.. an uncompress the files... (this is dangerus, because I can't uncompress this files, the server doesn't restart, because files boot are compress and anothers:
/boot/grub/ffs_stage1_5.gz
/boot/grub/grub.conf.gz
/boot/.vmlinuz-2.6.18-194.11.1.el5PAE.hmac.gz
/boot/System.map-2.6.18-194.11.1.el5PAE.gz
/boot/config-2.6.18-194.26.1.el5PAE.gz
/boot/initrd-2.6.18-194.11.1.el5PAE.img.old.gz
/boot/message.gz
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-194.11.1.el5PAE.gz
/boot/initrd-2.6.18-194.e
