All I did initially was install xscreensaver tried to use it, but it would say that the gnome daemon is running and do you want to turn it off? If this was a problem to have xscreensaver and gnome screensaver both installed, maybe Centos should have only offered one screensaver.

Since In removed xscreensaver, and turned on gnome screensaver, it set it to turn on after 10 min. but when tapping the keyboard to bring up the desktop it would take 3-4 taps to bring it up, it shutters you could say. Since it was annoying, I turned off screensavers. Centos runs great without it.
