Thanks very much for the reply. I only posted in the Centos-5 section because CentOS-6 did not have a "webhosting" subsection.
I will proceed without setting up bind and report back to confirm what I've learned, when I've learned it.

And yes, this is mostly a technical exercise to learn and break things in the most inexpensive way possible. Up time is not important, for now.
