Hey guys,

After doing some updates/upgrades it appears that I have an option of 3 or 4 kernels to boot from when starting up. So I've had a look online and found how to do this, however I don't really get the results I'm after. This is what I get:

[root@localhost ~]# uname -r
2.6.18-308.4.1.el5PAE
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -qa | grep kernel
kernel-PAE-2.6.18-274.17.1.el5
kernel-PAE-2.6.18-308.4.1.el5
kernel-PAE-2.6.18-194.el5
[root@localhost ~]# rpm -e kernel-PAE-2.6.18-274.1.e15
error: package kernel-PAE-2.6.18-274.1.e15 is not installed
[root@localhost ~]#

Can anyone help out?

You have a typo in your rpm -e kernel name, yours is e15 (E fifteen) and the real name is el5 (E L five).

There's also an installonly_limit= parameter that can be used in /etc/yum.conf to automatically limit the number of parallel kernels that installed.
