Hi All,
I read through the forum and removed the Nouveau driver and installed the nvidia driver. Works great, I'm happy.
I noticed though, when the system boots, I don't get that really cool effect of a black screen with only CentOS 6 and a swirling circle underneath (Plymouth?).
It's sublime, informative, but not garish, I'd like to have that back.

I thought I hit upon something with this thread kmod-nvidia bootsplash so I added vga=ask to my grub.conf. Upon reboot I selected my desired mode, 34D (somehow, that number makes me, happy).

Viola! Back in business! (So why am I writing this to the forum? To head-off a similar problem for other users? If only I were so generous.)

I opened a terminal and I went into grub.conf, changed vga=ask to vga=34D and rebooted. I DO get my selected mode but I do not get the cool swirling circle but instead the blue progress bar at the bottom.

The answer's at the tip of my fingers....just....can't...grasp...it

Anyone know how to get that back?r?
thanks

34D is a hexadecimal number. Convert it to a decimal number. Or try vga=0x034D.
