Starting Network on CentOS 6.1

Hello,

I have installed CentOS 6.1 using the Basic server configuration on a VMWare image. When I start the image, everything comes up fine and the network is enabled.
However, if I copy this image to another location, the image is not connected to the network anymore. I only see localhost and cannot get each other hosts on our network.
How can I fix this or prevent it from happening? I did not have this issue with CentOS 5.7

thanks for your help

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.

Perhaps it is the issue mentioned in CentOS-6 FAQ#2. If not, then have you checked that the VMware configuration of the copied image is the same - for instance Bridged or NAT networking. Also make sure the MAC addresses are not the same on multiple VMs as that could be problematic. You don't say what VMware product you are using on what host OS.
