Welcome to the CentOS fora. New users should do the recommended reading as linked in my signature.

If you really had tried EVERYTHING it would have worked

Please be more specific on what you did, how you installed java and what specifically does not work.

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.

Have you tried following http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/JavaRuntimeEnvironment? If you just need the runtime/plugin that is known to work . There are other Java articles as well, but in need of some serious attention.

If more help is needed please provide more details about your system, and about your needs.
