Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.

The first thing to try is to "yum update" to get CentOS-5.7 and numerous subsequent errata. Obsolete releases are not supported.

If more help is needed then please provide more information about your system by running "./getinfo.sh" and showing us the output file, although you already gave us a pretty good subset of that.

Edit: If still having problems after the update, you may want to try ELRepo kmod-r8168.

You are still not running a current kernel - the latest being 2.6.18-274.17.1.el5 - due to the exclude= lines in your repo configurations, and those kernel-module packages certainly raise suspicions. Where are they from? Not any of the well-known repos that I have searched.

kernel-module-dahdi-2.4.1.2-5_2.6.18_238.12.1.el5
kernel-module-rhino-0.99.4-2.rc1_2.6.18_238.12.1.el5
kernel-module-wanpipe-3.5.23-1_2.6.18_238.12.1.el5

The elastix repos make me suspect that what you are running is not truly CentOS. See Other Voices. If you are running Elastix kernels then they are your only recourse for help with them.
