Hi.
This is a CentOS question, not a Root Kit Hunter question.

I just upgraded from CentOS 6.0 to 6.2, and although after the upgrade was complete, along with a reboot, I ran
$ rkhunter --propupd

to tell it all was OK, it still gave me this error this morning:
Quote:
Warning: Hidden file found: /sbin/.cryptsetup.hmac: ASCII text

which I'm assuming has something to do with cryptsetup (8) that just got set up with the upgrade.

My two questions are: (1) confirmation this is OK and is not a problem
but more importantly (2) where would I go within the CentOS world if this were more mysterious, to ensure it's not a false-positive, or, if real, what to do next ? Etc.

Enjoy,
-doug

# rpm -qf /sbin/.cryptsetup.hmac
cryptsetup-luks-1.2.0-6.el6.x86_64

Trevor covered that one.

CentOS 6 - Security Support or the rkhunter-users list.
