Hello every body i need some help, i will like to set up a server as a internet gateway first i have two network cards

eth0 = ip wan

x.x.x.x
255.255.255.248
x.x.x.x
dns 8.8.8.8

y configure it and i have internet

eth1 = ip lan

192.168.30.254
255.255.255.0


already connection with my client 192.168.30.39 via ssh works good.

the question is why i can have intenet on my lan clients????

someone told me that i need to configure statics routes but i don't know how or when, help please.

Welcome to the CentOS fora. Please see the recommended reading for new users linked in my signature.

CentOS may not be the best choice for a gateway. Some of the custom firewall distros may be more appropriate.

Anyway, to continue with CentOS you need to enable IP forwarding and NAT. See the upstream documentation.

If more help is needed then please provide more information about your system by running "./getinfo.sh network" and showing us the output file.
