Use a command line application instead of nautilus.
For cd writing, dated but still good (though you can ignore most of the stuff about getting the burner recognized by the system) http://howto-pages.org/cdwriting/11.php For dvds http://home.roadrunner.com/~computertaijutsu/dvds.html |
