as in the subject line.
one of my machines running on centos 5 (the latest updated version before the -today- update of feb. 17, 2012) showed up updates were availabe.
so i updated this morning.
as kernel an glibc packages were present amongst sosme others, and the machine requested to reboot, i did so.

the reboot came up but stopped in the bios screen (no sign of centos yet) and offered F2 to enter setup.

problem: the boot keeps stopped at that point and the keyboard gives no reaction at all.

anyone with the same problem here?

(will not update my other centos machines till this is clarified).

thanks.

SOLVED...

it appeared a connected usb-external drive prevented the system to boot,
booting is working after i disconnected that drive.

(the same drive is recognised and works when plugged in on a *running* system)

so it is NOT the update....

phew!!!

Thank you for reporting back with your findings.

For posterity (and on your behalf) this thread is now marked [SOLVED].
