am using the actual, updated centos 5.7, gnome desktop version with
firefox 3.6.26 my problem: i came to a website ( http://webshop-cs.tecdoc.net/skf/? ), it -only- says: xxxxxx Welcome to our WEB SHOP! Your browser needs the Adobe Flash-Plugin to use this SHOP. You can download it here: http://www.adobe.com/go/getflash xxxxxx when i go to that link, i come to a get.adobe.com page, which tells me: xxxxxx Download Adobe Flash Player Adobe Flash Player version 11.1.102.62 Your system: Linux 32-bit, Firefox Different operating system or browser? xxxxxx as the pre-selection is right, i can select in a box: xxxxxx select version to download: YUM for linux tar.gz for other linux rpm for other linux APT for Ubuntu 10.04+ xxxxxx as i have YUM on my system, i did choose 'YUM for linux' 'Download now' comes up and i download the file: xxxxxx adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm xxxxxx (which is NOT 11.1.102.62 !!) to my desktop. when i open that file with 'software installer', i get a box telling me: xxxxxx /Desktop/adobe-release-i386-1.0-1.noarch.rpm is already installed xxxxxx and after 'OK': xxxxxx No packages were given for installation. xxxxxx so nothing is installed. when i go back to 'select version to download' and choose the line 'rpm for other linux' and 'Download now', the file: xxxxxx flash-plugin-11.1.102.62-release.i386.rpm xxxxxx is downloaded to my desktop, which has a name a bit more promising. after 'open with software installer' i get a message box: xxxxxx /Desktop/flash-plugin-11.1.102.62-release.i386.rpm is already installed. xxxxxx and after 'OK': xxxxxx No packages were given for installation. xxxxxx so nothing is installed again. after a restart of firefox the website (webshop of SKF = bearing makers) is still inaccessible. any cues of the members to solve this? or should i forget it? |

Please review the recommended reading including Installing Software. See also How to setup multimedia on CentOS-5.
Did you try "yum install flash-plugin" as root after installing the adobe-release repo config package? |
