You aren't using any of the graphical desktops if you are connecting remotely through ssh, so "switching" would be meaningless.

Yes. I do believe that there is a command "switchdesk" in package "switchdesk", which might do the edit for you.
However, I would disagree with the terminology of: Quote: I know I can switch from gnome to kde or xfce from GUI login page. The "GUI login page", the login/display manager, may let you choose a desktop for your session. Switching on the other hand affects what desktop starts if you do not choose. |
