There is probably no need to revert to a kernel that old even if the latest kernels are problematic. A new one has just been announced upstream that may help. Backing up a step - there may be a driver already available. Please tell us what driver you are having problems with and provide more information about your system by running "./getinfo.sh driver" and showing us the output file. |

Hi,
Need to install GCC to build wireless drivers for my box. but upon install i get following error 1:compat-glibc-headers-2.5-46.2.i686 requires kernel-headers >= 2.2.1 glibc-headers-2.12-1.47.el6.i686 requires kernel-headers >= 2.2.1 glibc-headers-2.12-1.47.el6.i686 requires kernel-headers The new centos kernel broke my system completely so i reverted to kernel 2.6.32-71.el6.i686 with exclude=kernel* line in yum.conf. Is this problem caused by using the older kernel and if so can it be gotten around? thanks |
