Please close the thread, i found that the server provider blocked glibc updating

/etc/yum.conf:exclude=kernel* glib*

Hi fellas,
after i installed a fresh Centos 5 32bit, i get error when i try to install gcc compiler


gcc-4.1.2-52.el5.i386 from base has depsolving problems   
--> Missing Dependency: glibc-devel >= 2.2.90-12 is needed by package gcc-4.1.2-52.el5.i386 (base)
 Error: Missing Dependency: glibc-devel >= 2.2.90-12 is needed by package gcc-4.1.2-52.el5.i386 (base)


rpm -q glibc:

glibc-2.5-58.el5_6.4


cat /etc/redhat-release:

CentOS release 5.8 (Final)


any help please.
