Yes, I know the PHp 5.2+ line is not officially in Centos 5, but the site we use is wanting to upgrade to Invision Power Board 3.0 which requires it to run. In my searches I found this site: http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/5/ which seems to carry the lastest PHP. Is that my only option to do so and has anyone tried it out before?
Thanks |

FWIW, I noticed that collet repo does not contain any php-pdo and php-snmp. The two packages are used by cacti. So you better know what your applications' needs before using that repo.

Thanks for the info. We will be holding off using that repository as we don't want to wreck the server which has taken us way too long to get running so smoothly :P Is there anywhere one can follow the development of the next release which will include the later PHP?

Not sure if you mean the testing repo version or CentOS-6. The former apparently is awaiting more positive feedback from testers on the centos-devel list, and/or action by the developers. The latter will follow the release of RHEL-6 - probably sometime next year.
