Hello.

My server started to throw the following errors at me:

Quote:
Message from syslogd@ at Wed Nov 24 22:17:13 2010 ...
server kernel: Uhhuh. NMI received for unknown reason 2d.

Message from syslogd@ at Wed Nov 24 22:17:13 2010 ...
server kernel: Do you have a strange power saving mode enabled?

Message from syslogd@ at Wed Nov 24 22:17:13 2010 ...
server kernel: Dazed and confused, but trying to continue

This happens with different (may be random) intervals. Server is

Linux 2.6.18-194.26.1.el5 #1 SMP Tue Nov 9 12:54:20 EST 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

It seems, like this started to happen after latest kernel update, but on my other two servers everything is fine.

What can this be? No hardware changes were done to server.

Server also seem to hang at different times randomly.

Server kernel version looks strange to be because the latest I have on my other server is only
Quote:
Linux 2.6.18-194.17.4.el5 #1 SMP Mon Oct 25 15:50:53 EDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Where is this kernel come from?

Moved to kernel 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5 and the problem seem to be gone.

.26.1 is a valid kernel release and is the latest one.

You might want to try raising a bugzilla on the Redhat bugzilla system to get this problem logged so that someone looks at it and fixes whatever the error is. Without that, it's probably going to mean that all future kernels will not work on your machine.
