[RESOLVED] SSH lag on login

I've had quite a bit of experience with this issue, so I know the usual culprits are the /etc/ssh/sshd_config UseDNS no and the /etc/hosts file.

The server is sitting inside my private network, I changed the subnet from .1 to .15 yesterday and updated my hosts file to reflect that. Since I've done that the SSH login lag has reappeared.

My hosts file:

127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.15.101 raq

Now, before I didn't have to modify my sshd_config, so I went ahead and did that this time and restarted SSHD. Still didn't fix it. I'm assuming it's having an issue with the IP address, though the IP has a resevered lease with the DHCP server so it's static in the network. Confused at this point, any help would be greatly appreciated.

*edit*

Set GSSAPIAuthentication no in /etc/ssh/sshd_config and this has resolved it.

Sorry for taking up forum space.

Yeah, I'm not sure why but setting GSSAPIAuthentication to NO in /etc/ssh/sshd_config resolved the issue. I never had this problem before, so I'm not sure why it would start now. Only problems I've ever had with this issue in the past were bad /etc/hosts entries.

It's fine now, just odd I'd have to do that. Oh well! Thanks for your reply though.

If you are using putty, turning it off in the putty config works too.
