Re: Should I buy Intel Core i5-1340P for CentOS?

Yeah, there is an issue with the USB4 display port - I'm not sure how connected they are with white screen on resume - that usually happens on the internal screen only. Anyway, I'm over it - chargeback request accepted: new machine.

Arh! @TrevorH, Penny just dropped - you're on fedora not centos - fedora linux is a long way ahead of centos, thanks.

Re: Should I buy Intel Core i5-1340P for CentOS?

Thanks @TrevorH, I'm running f39 on this AMD kit (it's not quite yet gone, but I'm told the chargeback request has gone through). This bug is a bit of a blocker: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2250245 Just noticing your byline, I started with fc1 - I went to PureOS (Debian derivative) a...

Re: Should I buy Intel Core i5-1340P for CentOS?

Thanks @jlehtone, very helpful. The AMD problems were with Ryzen 5 7640U w/ Radeon 760M Graphics - there are serious graphics problems causing unreliable wake from sleep in graphics mode: open bugs dating back to mid last year. Nightmare - constant anxiety unless I closed the machine down every time...

Should I buy Intel Core i5-1340P for CentOS?

Hi Folks,

Having bought a laptop recently with an AMD processor supposedly supported for linux and being sadly disappointed, I thought to shout out before doing the same again with an https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/cpu-intel_core_i5_1340p

Is that likely to run with the latest CentOS kernel?

Thanks

centos-plus & centos-stream-plus?

Earlier this year toracat & pperry helpfully got some my old hardware running in centos-plus. Over the past 6 months I've moved over to centos-stream. Just recently there seemed to be a bit of a rationalisation of the centos/ centos-stream repos including a CentOS-Stream-centosplus.repo Unfortunatel...

Re: trying to configure teamed bridge for VM...

Your team device needs TEAM_CONFIG or it will never work. Thank you Hunter I thought I was getting this sorted, but see the begining of my post as quoted at bottom for a brief update on progress since last week. Then I delete vnet0 from within nm-bridge0 via nmtui - and all the vnet#s lost their IP...

trying to configure teamed bridge for VM...

Hello Folks I'm at my wits end. This morning I had: lan <> eth <> bridge (IP) <> VM (IP) Now I have: lan <> eth <>team <> bridge (IP) | VM The reason for the team is there's another wifi device to be added in addition to eth I was following this cookbook: https://spottedhyena.co.uk/centos-8-teaming-...

[SOLVED] Re: Crunched my KVM VM...

If you have sufficient space in /var/lib/libvirt/images then a host shutdown with running guests should save them to disk and resume them on reboot. That has always just worked out of the box for me with no changes That's what I hoped - loads of space: # df ... /dev/mapper/cl_frontserver-var_lib_li...
