Good news! the solution was to remove pci=nomsi option from the kernel cmdline in /etc/grub.conf
We needed this option on the previous Intel servers to get some hardware working but is not needed with the AMD server and actually caused hardware to fail.

Hi Trevor, Yes, the new machine has only USB3 plugs in the back. I tried rebuilding the initramfs with `dracut -f` but still the keyboard was acting wonky upon bootup.
