how to stop Firefox updating?

Firefox updated to version 78 which has problems. I yum downgrade firefox and got version 68, much better.
I added this line to yum.conf:
installonly=firefox-68.12.0-1

In Firefox config app.update.auto is false

But Firefox updated to version 78 later in the day.

has anybody tried the Raven LQXT desktop?

I have been running XCFE for a while, and then KDE Plasma. Just wondering if this LXQT acutally works in RHEL8 family.

Re: Intel AX200 WiFi/Bluetooth not working with CentOS 7

I just noticed in your lspci, a Realtek 8125 as well as an AQC107
Did you get that 8125 working in Centos 7?

Is it possible to build a CentOS-8-x86_64-DVD.iso with maximal 4.2GB size? In my case it is not possible to use an USB Stick.
Oracle linux used to be smaller (4 GB iso) but their version 8 also is bigger now.
And Springdale 8 only has netinstall at present.
So you are SOL

Re: Missing epel packages

Many developers for EPEL rely on having a CentOS machine on which to build and test packages. That means that the process is a bit horse and cart so one has to be there for the other to be provided. Hopefully now that CentOS 8 is out, EPEL will catch up fairly quickly. Springdale 8 and Oracle 8 wer...

how to install keeping old /home?

I have a PC with 2 hard drives. One was /home and the other drive held all the rest. So I try to install Centos 7 from DVD. I have done fresh install a few times before. Now I select custom partitioning for the installation destination. It shows "Scientific Linux 7.1" (what was there before). sda ha...

Re: When can we see CentOS8?

You can get Springdale linux 8 already, which is very similar to Centos, if you are impatient.
Also Oracle 8 is out.

Re: When the CentOS 8 is available for Download ?

If you are desperate, Springdale 8 is already out - you can download a net-install boot CD. Also Oracle enterprise 8 is out (requires you to register first). But if you tried RHEL8 beta, you would not be so impatient. Instead, you should be asking "when will EPEL8 have some decent stuff in it, like ...

is there an installation guide for Development Workstation?

There are many how-to guides for Centos 7, but most of them are for Gnome desktop or server, and they look pretty pathetic, some of them have just copied other crappy guides. I want to see a complete guide for Development Workstation and what options come up on right side of the screen. I need to ex...

Re: nvidia driver with PAE kernel - no go

I remember that nvida was unsupported on a PAE kernel back in 2009 when a colleague of mine tried it but that there were ways of making it work if you tried hard enough. However I'm not sure how successful that was. I found a kludge in Fedora forum. Procedure includes installing kernel-PAE-devel be...
