No luck, same results if I run that.
Also if I chown to theuser:theuser then nginx stops working for that directory.

So I think somehow that security change meant that I couldnt access files which were previously owned by the root user. nginx was looking under xginx:nginx for user/group. I chowned to this even though previously they were owned by user/user If this works fine, I will then need to rethink my ftp str...

I was setting up FTP, and doing two things at once. On the wrong server I inadvertently ran chcon -Rv --type user_home_dir_t /home/userdir I meant to run this on /home/ftpuser however /home/userdir is my home directory of all my http content. Now that I have run this, nginx fails with 404 errors and...
