I just heard from the article's original author (and creator of the page to which I linked, then said it seemed to be down.)
As he's quite busy these days, he doesn't know if the page will get back up, or be updated--as we've discovered here, the wiki article (and page to which I linked) are for nagios 2.
Phil, if you have a chance, maybe that last line in the wiki article, with a link to a no longer exisiting page, should be removed.
(And perhaps also a note about the article being for nagios 2.)

How did you configured SELinux ?
@scottro
Any chance of this Nagios in your home page's tutorials/how-tos ?

Re: About Nagios Wiki HowTos
@chiuna, thanks for the implied compliment. However, I know very little more about it than what is on the wiki, and as mentioned, have only worked with Nagios 2. Max has said that if anyone wants to take over the guide, they're more than welcome (though I'm not sure if he referred to the wiki article, which he'd already more or less abandoned), or his original pages.
(For us, it's less essential than some other monitoring that's done, so for me it was more a set it and forget it type thing.)

I remember that my test box always has SELinux enabled but now I am surprised and I honestly forgot what test I made that forced me to set it to permissive.
Re: About Nagios Wiki HowTos
I've been in contact with Max, he's going to try to get me some of the html of his former pages--so, @chiuna, well, stuff might appear on my pages--if so, however, it will be dated, about nagios 2.

Glad to see that I've injected the idea in a pro's head. :-)

Heh, the pro is Max. I'm a nagios amateur. :)
