CodeWeavers Crossover Office - for free

Post by jseymour » 2008/10/28 03:39:01

I have been an advocate for codeweavers sponsoring an application I need to run on Linux for quite some time. The sent an email a while back about a George Bush Lame duck contest they were running. I received this in the mail earlier today:

Quote:
Specifically, I had no idea when we launched the CodeWeavers Lame Duck
Challenge:
http://lameduck.codeweavers.com
that George Bush would take it so seriously. And it was truly
remarkable of him to engineer a complete collapse of our financial
industry just to prove he could meet my challenge. My fault; I had
thought he would try more prudent methods.

However, this does create a great opportunity for you to spread the word
about CrossOver, as tomorrow, anyone can get a fully functioning, fully
supported copy of CrossOver, for free. Existing customers can get
another year of support, again for free. It's a great day for any
CrossOver user, and a great time for anyone to try CrossOver.

So if you use a MAC or Linux and have a need to run Windows software on it, it's a great time to try it. Usually around 60 bucks a pop.

I thought this was a joke at first. (I guess you missed the other crossover office thread.)

However, unlike me, *YOU* posted it in the correct section of the forums.

(I should make it clear, I'm not making fun of you. If you look at the other thread though, you'll see why I thought it was a joke to make a new thread about it and posting it in this section of the forums. I'm making more fun of myself, as you put it where I should have put my own post about it.)

Sigh, now Alan is going to ask me why I didn't post here if others saw that it was the right place.

Shamefacedly,

Scott

Well, it wasn't something you should feel ashamed of after all. As we know by now, there are people who did not even know about this forum. So your post, Scott, in the other forum did something good for them. :-D

Ah toracat, it's kind of you to be kind to an old man who is so senile he can't find the right section of the forum. :)

To jseymour, please don't take any of my silliness seriously. Thank you for taking the time to share the information.
