First, apologies if this is addressed elsewhere...I did look, but cannot find it if so...
I wrote a Python wrapper to change wallpaper automatically, randomly drawing wallpaper from online webcams or locally from offline images or both. At this point I have used it for several months. It's stable, it's nice, it does not crash the system, lock up or cause any problems. I have tested it with CentOS and Kubuntu and it plays well with both Gnome 2 and KDE 4.
I have posted it online at Sourceforge and Free Software Foundation, but my question is this: There are thousands of little apps in yum for a variety of functions, also nice, stable, etc. How do I submit/add a package for inclusion with linux distros in general? How do those thousands of apps/applets get included so that when someone searches for a function or keyword in package manager, they get a likely hit?
Thanks!
Mommy, where do yum packages come from?
Comments, suggestions, compliments, etc
