Win 10 Pro RDP into CentOS VPS

Post by N8tiv » 2018/11/04 18:13:11

Hello all,

I just purchased, a fresh CentOS 6 VPS with the gnome GUI preinstalled.

I haven't, just yet… Created a new user with root privileges. I'll do that, after I'm done writing my question about suggestions.
I haven't even run the "yum update", yet either! I'll do that after this.

My laptop is running Windows 10 professional 64-bit. *hissss! I know I know :-)

I would like to, try to use Windows built-in RDP. Remote Desktop program? Protocol? Problem? LOL

Would anybody happen to know, what I would need to set up within my CentOS 6 box/VPS before attempting to connect with Windows RDP?
What programs will I need to install in my Linux box in order for me to connect to it and control it with Windows RDP?

Any ideas/suggestions/feedback & pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

Rob

Use VNC instead.

VNC is well supported with many solutions.

If you really want to use RDP, then you can install xrdp from the EPEL repository.
