HELP me to solve a real Postfix trouble

Post by davidyan » 2019/01/30 15:01:14

Hi Centos Community,
I really need help as I am lost into postfix setup.
PRODUCT, VERSION, OPERATING SYSTEM, ARCHITECTURE:
CentOS Linux 6.10 (Core)‬
11.5.30 Update #55
Postfix 3.3.1
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
We distributed email using Postfix early this morning. I reviewed the headers of the resulting emails.
They were sent from the IP address associated with the Server sxxxxxxx.onlinehome-server.info instead of the IP address associated with the Domain.(ex:aleria.fr)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
Mail setting to: "Send from domain IP addresses and use domain names in SMTP greeting"
create a domain with an ip address that is different than the server ip address
review configuration in /etc/postfix/master.cf
create a mailman distribution list for the new domain with one test email address
send an email to the mailman address for distribution
review the headers of the resulting email -- specifically the sending IP Address
ACTUAL RESULT:
Email sent from Server IP Address
EXPECTED RESULT:
Email sent from Domain IP Address
I am not a specialist into vi editor or ssh and I really need step by step explanations
A lot of thanks to everyone
David
ps: I can send my main.cf and master.cf

Unfortunately I'm not sure that we can help you. The details you post, it doesn't sound like you have a CentOS system at all. We do not ship postfix 3.3.1, ours is postfix-2.10.1-7.el7.x86_64 on CentOS 7 and postfix-2.6.6-8.el6.x86_64 on CentOS 6.

The mention you make there of "11.5.30 Update #55" sounds like you have a control panel of some description installed, possibly Plesk as it sounds like one of their version numbers. As all control panels replace lots of portions of CentOS with their own versions, you will need to ask them for advice. Anything we told you might break your system more than it is already.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

[root@mail ~]# postconf -d | grep mail_version
mail_version = 3.3.1
milter_macro_v = $mail_name $mail_version
[root@mail ~]#
What can you answer to me as my configuration is really this:
Nom d'hôte s0000000.onlinehome-server.info
Adresse IP 87.106.000.000
OS CentOS 6.10 (Final)
Version de Parallels Panel 11.5.30 Mettre à jour #55, dernière mise à jour à Jan 24, 2019 10:26 PM

Have you plesk support? When 'control panels' are installed, they REPLACE critical CentOS components with their own (not CentOS anymore).

I'm not saying that you're lying. I believe that what you have was probably once CentOS but we do not support panels on this forum. Not of any type. Plesk/cpanel/directadmin - the whole lot, all modify CentOS to the point where it is not CentOS any more. They have their own configuration methods and ways - none of them standard CentOS ones. If we tell you how to fix a CentOS system that doesn't have Plesk on it and you apply that solution to one with Plesk, you might break it even more than it is now. One of the key components they have replaced is the one that you have the problem with. We don't ship postfix 3.3.1, on CentOS 6, ours is 2.6.6.

You have Plesk and that means you need to ask them for support for your problem.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
