Hardware Vendor with CentOS 6 Support

Post by CaveDann » 2019/02/19 11:35:17

Hey Everyone,

I know CentOS 6 is in End of Life so this is a real long shot. I'm looking for somewhere to buy a new tower PC with CentOS 6 or RHEL 6 support from the manufacturer. Dell seem to have now moved solely to RHEL 7 so they aren't an option any longer.

Does anyone have any suggestions of other vendors to either use or avoid?

Cheers,
CD

You'd be better off looking to convert whatever it is that you have that requires CentOS 6. You only have about 18 months before all support for it is dropped entirely.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Hey Trevor,

You're not wrong. Short of finding someone who can supply hardware that's tested with 6, the best move may be to use 7 and attempt to run the software from a CentOS 6 VM.
