With the end of CentOS, I am planning on moving my CentOS 6 and 7 hosts to Ubuntu. My plan is to simply install Ubuntu over CentOS. I know this will leave some orphan files on the system but I am willing to accept that.
Does anyone have any gotchas or other thoughts on this process?
Thanks
Installing Ubuntu over CentOS
Re: Installing Ubuntu over CentOS
One can't install CentOS [78] "over" CentOS [67]. If such "small step" is doomed, what chances does the "leap" to Ubuntu have?
No. Make fresh, clean install. Configure the Ubuntu (however Ubuntu is configured) and transfer user data.
