How to get any GUI bittorrent software for CentOS 6?
Re: How to get any GUI bittorrent software for CentOS 6?
I checked the version of deluge available on CentOS 5 and found that it's really ancient (0.5.9 vs the 1.3.2 that is current) but I downloaded the SRPM for it from rpmforge anyway and attempted to rebuild it on CentOS 6. First thing I found was that it no longer compiles on C6, giving errors that can be found on google and corrected by adding #include to libtorrent/src/identify_client.cpp and #include to libtorrent/include/libtorrent/disk_io_thread.hpp but then hit another problem that I can no longer remember :-( At that point I gave up on the old version and went in search of a more recent SRPM and after much trial and error managed to build 1.3.2 from the Fedora 16 sources. To do this I ended up having to build deluge, python-chardet and rb_libtorrent from SRPMs. I had to hack the SPEC files for both deluge and rb-libtorrent around to make them build without errors and although what I built installs and runs and appears to work, I'm not sure how much I trust it!
