Installer problem with Nvidia GTX 1070 (Asus)

I'm trying to install CentOS 6.8 to my PC. The installation cd (tried with flash drives as well), fails booting the installation reporting: Unsupported Video Resolution. Tried many different monitors, different monitor resolutions, failed. I had a GTX 970, replaced 1070 with 970 one, booted the installation and it worked! Installed the system fine, then I put my GTX 1070 back. A friend of mine tried to install CentOS on his computer with same GTX 1070 card, he reports that installation didn't start neither. Perhaps CentOS 6.8 has a problem with GTX 1070 chipset?
P.S.: Tried the same steps on CentOS 7, got the same trouble. Screen turns black just before "Welcome to CENTOS 7" graphical installation.
Thanks in advance,
Best wishes.

There is a "fallback" option to use the VGA it is a grub entry in the boot screen - except I can't remember the name of it - it'll use VGA and *should* work - have you tried it?

The option is something like "Basic video" off the troubleshooting option on the initial boot menu when you start up the install media.

Tried text mode, and any other options you suggest.
Failed.
Screen disappears, "The current input timing is not supported by the monitor display. Please change your input timing to 1920x1200 @60 HZ" my monitor reports.
Nouveau also reports, I have catched the error during messages output: "unknown chipset".

If you are seeing messages in the log about nouveau then you are not selecting the correct option. When you first boot up there is an initial menu presented with options to Install, Verify Media and Install, and Troubleshooting. If you pick the Troubleshooting option then you see another menu and the top one there is "Install CentOS 7 in basic graphics mode". This is the one you want and should boot up using the vesa driver and work with any video card that supports VESA video modes.

Yes, and that didn't work with that card.
