Update:
I booted CentOS 6 with NIC=tg3 on the kernel line - still not network connection.
The VendorID:DeviceID is [b]14e4:1692[/b]
I located a module for this vendor/device [b]alias pci:v000014E4d00001692sv*sd*bc*sc*i* tg3[/b]
ifconfig-a shows eth0 present but no IP address.
