So I'm building a application server and to keep things as identical as possible I need to install java-1.5_17. I'm not able to find any documentation on where I can find this particular version. I'm aware that it's outdated, but it's been requested to try and keep all versions the same. Can someone please tell me where I can find this version? Also, how much trouble could it cause to just go with 1.6?
Thanks.
Installing java-1.5_17 on Centos 5.5

Assuming you mean Java with the JMX bits (aka Oracle HotSpot JVM).
You may be lucky looking in the archives of Oracle's website, but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

Also, don't run 5.5 it is terribly riddled with exploits.
Yum update to the supported 5.11.
Then look at transitioning to CentOS 6 or 7 as CentOS 5 is near EOL.
