You should use the latest CentOS release, which is currently 6.4, if you don't have some specific reason to use CentOS 5. If you must use CentOS 5, you should install version 5.9.

I have been using Version 5.9. However, it is freezing all the time. It makes me frustrated. What is suggestion for below 5.9 version?

You need to find out why it is freezing since that is not normal. The most likely explanation is a hardware error. Did you try running memtest86+ for a day or two?

Thank you for your reply. I have done memtest86+ for 2 days. However, no error is coming up. Do you recommend I use CentOS Ver5.5 for this Machine? Thanks.

No-one should use 5.5 anywhere. 5.9 is the latest and is the version that should be used.

What do you mean by "freezing all the time"? Do you see any messages? Anything in the logs?

Define "freezing".

"freezing" is meaning that the computer is halt. it does not work.
