I at a total loss on this, so hoping someone else has dealt with a problem I'm having!
I have about a dozen CentOS 5 VMs (not happening on CentOS 4 or 6 machines), all set to DHCP. DHCP delivers the DNS details etc.
On about 1/2 those VMs I have a file /etc/dhconfig-eth0.conf with the following line:
supersede domain-name-servers 172.16.2.253;
I'm not sure why this supersede entry is getting created. It's causing a problem since we have a DR site with a diff IP range (and DNS server IPs) and this supersede sticks when we activate a DR drill! It does NOT get updated by the new DHCP delivery at the DR site.
I've tried just rm'ing /etc/dhconfig-eth0.conf. Making sure the DNS field of the GUI for Network is empty etc, no change really. It comes back on some, doesn't come back on others, has never come on some!
So lost...

Do you have NetworkManager started on those machines?

Just spot checked 2 machines, one with the superseed and one without and no, NetworkManager service is stopped.
