Hi all,
I have a HP Envy with Windows 8.1 and a HFS partition
I was trying to install CentOS from the CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64-DVD.iso but the install fails with a missing "hfsplus_tools" error soon after starting
I see from this post viewtopic.php?f=47&t=48444&hilit=hfs+partition that the OP believes that HFS partitions aren't supported.
My question is should I remove the HFS partition [and reinstall later] or will installing from CentOS-7.0-1406-x86_64-Everything.iso have the missing hfsplus_tools to allow installation to proceed
Many thanks
/Cuchulain
Installation problems when HFS partition exists
Re: Installation problems when HFS partition exists
CentOS doesn't supply hfsplus-tools at all. There is a package by that name in a third party repo called nux-dextop but the fact that the hfsplus-tools is a requirement from the installer is a bug as the package doesn't exist in CentOS repos.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
