Re: terminal shortcut
I use the same as in Ubuntu which is CTRL-ALT-T but it is not preset.
You have to go to preferences and create it there.

Re: terminal shortcut
This is how to do it on a Gnome desktop:
open Settings (which I called preferences)
go to Devices -> Keyboard
scroll down and click on "+"
enter some random name e.g. "Terminal" and as command "gnome-terminal"
click on "Set Shortcut..." and choose your shortcut e.g. CTRL-ALT-T
click on "Add"
open Settings (which I called preferences)
go to Devices -> Keyboard
scroll down and click on "+"
enter some random name e.g. "Terminal" and as command "gnome-terminal"
click on "Set Shortcut..." and choose your shortcut e.g. CTRL-ALT-T
click on "Add"

Name: use a friendly name
command: gnome-terminal
shortcut: select keyboard shortcut
Re: terminal shortcut
Hummmmmm. The fastest shortcut is to simply put the terminal (or konsole) icon on the panel (or taskbar). You want to start a terminal just click on the icon on the panel.
Re: terminal shortcut
Just for FUN I wanted to figure out how this might be done in KDE in CentOS 7.6. Well here is how you can do it:mashiro2004 wrote: ↑2019/02/02 19:45:05Applications --> system tools --> Settings --> Devices --> Keyboard --> add shortcut pressing +abdossamad2003 wrote: ↑2019/02/02 19:06:44" You have to go to preferences and create it there."

Name: use a friendly name
command: gnome-terminal
shortcut: select keyboard shortcut
1) GoTo KDE settings
2) GoTo System Settings
3) Under Common Appearance and Behavior find Shortcuts and Gestures,
4) Under Custom Shortcuts. Enable Examples
5) Click on Examples and locate Run Konsole and Enable it.
To start a Konsole from anywhere type Crtl+Alt+T
