CentOS-7-x86_64-GenericCloud-1503.qcow2 root username and password

Post by xedlinux » 2019/07/11 05:26:38

Hi All,

I am having trouble in logging in into the CentOS-7-x86_64-GenericCloud-1503.qcow2 image after installation. Can please let me know what is the default root username/password?

If don't have, what is the next step to make it work.

Thank you very much.

Cheers,

XEDLINUX

I've got no idea what the username/password is but I do know that you should under no circumstances whatsoever use a cloud image from 2015/03 which is what the 1503 in that filename means. It's 4 years old and highly insecure and should not be used. There should be images there with 19xx dates on them, use those.

As far as usernames etc go, I believe they are all set up with cloud-init and you're meant to inject your own ssh key in there so you can use key based access to get in.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
