how to solved filesystem error

Post by musangberjanggut » 2019/11/10 00:26:28

Hi Guys,

sorry as i'm quite noob. i would like to seek guidance from this forum on how or what is the best practice to move my main / to a new disk. recently i'm having a problem with one of my vm. it keep giving filesystem error on every 2 days running. i have to run e2fsck each time this happened. i am planning to move all / directory to a new disk. currently / and /boot are mount a lvm disk. since the disk currently being used as boot for linux, can anyone share with me the correct way to do it?

I don't think you should move it, I thin kyou should discover what the problem is or it's just going to do it again.

What sort of VM on what virtualisation software?
What is the filesystem error and how are you seeing it?
When you ran e2fsck, where from and how?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
