Trouble with YUM repository configuration in CentOS 7

Post by joeroot6543 » 2024/02/26 17:51:06

I recently installed CentOS 7 on my server and encountered an issue with YUM repository configuration. Despite following the standard procedures for configuring repositories, I'm unable to update or install packages using YUM. Whenever I try to run yum update or yum install <package_name>, I get errors indicating that the repository metadata could not be retrieved or that the repository is not accessible. I've checked my network connection and it seems to be fine. Could someone please guide me on how to troubleshoot and resolve this issue?

You need to look at *which* repository it is complaining about. It tells you in the wall of text error message it emits.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
