Unable to enter X-window after rebooting

Post by criselee » 2024/04/19 00:51:52

I am using Centos 7, 7.9.
I rebooted yesterday and the entry into x-Window is not working to date (first reboot in over a year).
Symptom: I can't enter x-Window on boot and it freezes during boot.
I'm using putty, I can log in with ssh, and I can do xrdp remotely.
The problem is the current state of not being able to enter x-Window on boot. It is stuck on boot and none of the inputs work.

If I select an older version on the cento7 version selection screen at boot, it boots and enters x-Window fine.
This is a problem that only happens with the current version.
Any advice from experienced users would be appreciated.

Have you installed the proprietary nvidia or AMD graphics drivers?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
