FreeTDS Dependency Issue (libgnutls.so.26)

Post by MonkeyMan » 2014/08/20 02:12:20

Hi,

I am having a bit of an issue with FreeTDS installation via yum.

Error: Package: freetds-0.91-2.el6.i686 (epel)
Requires: libgnutls.so.26(GNUTLS_1_4)

The oldest version of libgnutls.so available in the Centos 7 repo is 28 the current version is gnutls-3.1.18-9.el7_0.x86_64

I managed a bit of a hack workaround by installing a higher version of freetds (freetds-0.92.cvs.201107152105-12.1.x86_64) from a different repo but as my system is built from puppet I get dirty red errors in puppet.

Does anyone know if a new version of freetds is in the pipeline for centos 7?

Cheers
E

You have the wrong EPEL repo installed - that one is for CentOS 6 and you are running 7.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
