gjs-1.52.5 causes gnome to lock up
gjs-1.52.5 causes gnome to lock up
System: 7.6.1810, fully patched.
Problem: Dragging Firefox from the left sidebar (accessed by the top left hot corner) to the desktop causes gnome to lock up.
I found the problem exists only after upgrade to gjs-1.52.5, yum downgrade gjs to 1.52.3 fixes the problem.

Re: gjs-1.52.5 causes gnome to lock up
Hello I have the same issue (and I believe many other users), BUT:
I can't just simply downgrade from 1.52.5 to 1.52.3, because of the dependency, so I had to downgrade with the dependency:
yum downgrade gjs-devel gjs
Then I will be informed, that the downgrade to 1.52.3 was done, but then it seems, that the gjs package is removed completely.
Can you please state me your steps, how to perform the downgrade?
many thanks
P.S sorry I'm not sharing any screens, I'm on Mint now, as I had to remove CentOS due to the favorite bar issue

Re: gjs-1.52.5 causes gnome to lock up
Why do you think gjs has been removed?
What is the output of "rpm -qa | grep gjs"?

Re: gjs-1.52.5 causes gnome to lock up
sorry I can't test it as I'm on Mint currently.
Anyway once I downgraded with dependencies, the favorite bar dissapeared, as well as wallpaper, and overall seems, like the gnome was damaged by the downgrade.
Maybe I downgraded with yum in a wrong way?

Re: gjs-1.52.5 causes gnome to lock up
Fair enough. I was able to downgrade as described without any issues. Not had a re-occurrence of the problem so far.

schadfield : so you performed clean install, then yum update and then?
just yum downgrade gjs? If so can you please send me the steps (if possible with commands) if I did something wrong to check?
thanks

yum downgrade gjs\*
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
