SENSORS not reporting temperature / fans values

Post by chemist » 2019/11/10 09:49:24

Hello,

I have done a new installation of CentOS 7.7 from scratch and understood that I lost lm_sensors readings, and cannot figure out the nature of the problem

Code: Select all

# sensors
k10temp-pci-00c3
Adapter: PCI adapter
temp1:         +0.0°C  (high = +70.0°C)
I believe that I am using the same configuration of settings as I had had in the previous installation.

Code: Select all

$ cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-5.3.9-1.el7.elrepo.x86_64 root=UUID=7b55913a-8b7d-4677-9e21-d57806775763 ro rhgb quiet nouveau.modeset=0 acpi_enforce_resources=lax
getinfo.sh driver :

Perhaps you should try with the distro kernel.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Well, after some time, a part of the problem has been solved by installation/compilation of the latest lm_sensors 3.6.0 from GitHub. The newer version of lm_sensors sensors-detected some module nuvoton nctXXX (don't remember) and integrated it successfully into kernel.
Since then, I have indications of the chipset temperature values, voltages and fans.
While, the "k10temp-pci-00c3" is still showing zeroes.
