HP laserjet P1102 connected via USB.
CentOS 7: the printer is Ready, IP address: Localhost
Print test page: no output = "Stopped"
I have not manually installed any printer driver.
The printer works when booting my Windows 7 hard disk
(I can change hard disks in a disk kabinett).
Thankfull for any advice.

Re: Printer problem
If it is connected via USB why have you specified an IP address?
Your connection should be via the USB interface created in /dev for that printer.

Re: Printer problem
Easiest way to set up CUPS printing is to use the web interface at http://localhost:631/

To gerald_clark:
I have not specified any IP address. I just tried to describe what CentOS displays.
To bertan:
I will test CUPS. Thank you.
I am new to Linux. I am testing some distributions.
OpenMandriva 2014.0 KDE found my USB laserjet automatically and printed a test page.
It seems that many distributions have difficulties with USB printers and finding WiFi USB adapters.
However, both CentOS and Mandriva found my Zyxel wifi adapter.

Re: Printer problem
To bertan:
I am sorry, but I do not understand how to install CUPS.
It should not be so complicated to print.
The following distributions automatically find my wifi adaper and prints:
SolydX 2014.07
Mint 17 Mate
OpenMandriva 2014.0 KDE
Point Linux 2.3.1 Mate
These does not:
CentOS 7
Peppermint 5
Mint 17 Cinnamon (freezes, hangs)
For Linux to be an alterantive to Windows it must be as easy to install as the above 4 distributions.
I will continue testing the above 4.
Thank you for your support.
