What media were you booting and on what hardware?
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.
Info for USB installs on http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/InstallFromUSBkey
CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.

Dear Sir,

Thanks a lot for the reply.

The configuration of the 1st picture : (acpi_get_hp_hw_control_from_firmware)
OS : CentOS 7.6 (CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-1810.iso) installing with acpi=off (Legacy Mode)
HW: Intel Skylake-D Platform without NVMe SSD.
Note:
1. If I choose EFI mode, the system hangs with blank screen when the installation is just begining. (Right after I key in acpi=off.)
2. If I don't key in "acpi=off" the system shutdown about 10 seconds after I see the eight penguins.
3. I can install Ubuntu 18.10 successfully.
Help :
1. What does the string "acpi_get_hp_hw_control_from_firmware" mean? Does "hp" means hotplug or?
2. What is the possible problem with my platform?
3. How can I install it successfully? (bypass or solve this problem.)
4. How could I fix my problem of my platform and install the OS without keying in acpi=off?

The configuration of the 2nd picture: (nvme_reset_work)
OS : CentOS 7.5 (CentOS-7.5-x86_64-DVD-1804) installing with acpi=off (EFI Mode)
HW: Intel Skylake-D Platform with Toshiba NVMe SSD.
Note :
1. If I remove this SSD, I can install it successfully.
2. If I don't key in "acpi=off" the system shutdown about 10 seconds after I see the eight penguins.
3. 3. I can install Ubuntu 18.10 successfully. (But there will be an error about nvme in the dmesg)
Help :
1. What is the possible problem with the specific NVMe SSD?
2. How could I fix my problem of my platform and install the OS without keying in acpi=off?

Thank you very much for helping.
Louis
