I have Centos 7 on a VPS server. It has been running fine for about 3 years. On Sunday night it lost all connectivity to the net. On accessing a recovery console I can see that the eth0 adapter is down. Nothing I have tried will being it up.
Does anyone have any ideas what to try?
IP ADDR output for eth0 shows:
2: eth0: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast state DOWN group default qlen 1000
link/ether 00:50:56:be:d4:26 brd: ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet xx.xx.xx.xx/24 brd xx.xx.xx.255 scope global eth0
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
I have replace thev4 IP address with xx. The address is correct.
If I try to run ifconfig eth0 UP nothing happens
Help!
eth0 has suddenly stopped working, showing DOWN

Re: eth0 has suddenly stopped working, showing DOWN
OK, ignore this. This is because my VPS provider has disabled my server deliberately because they believe it is sending SYN FLOOD attacks (gulp!) .
I have created a separate request for help with figuring out how to find and stop this!
