Hello,
My question is:
From a production / Enterprise server layout can someone help give input on layout?
I am just learning.
For my KVM's:
I have a physical server, 4 KVM's: 2 server VM's, 2 client VM's
I am wondering about real-life set-ups?
I assume at least one physical server ? The Domain Server?
Then either several other physical servers for possibly other functions or using KVM's like a DNS, FTP, Proxy servers?
I've been told you would do this because it minimizes production impact since the VM's are only doing one main service?
I also assume roll-over VM's and / or back-up images setup to minimize downtime?
Thank You,
Lowry
Enterprise Server Structure and Security Practices Layout?
Re: Enterprise Server Structure and Security Practices Layou
I apologize, this may need moved to networking, but it also may be under security regarding Proxy, Firewall, and reduced downtime. Note sure.
Re: Enterprise Server Structure and Security Practices Layou
I'm not sure what you're asking, but yes having each VM doing a single thing is a good idea. Then you can cluster VMs for redudency if you need to.
