AWS/Azure Cloud Images - Malware question

Post by HasCos » 2023/10/19 02:21:10

Hello,

I was hoping to get some clarification/attestation as to whether or not the images shared on AWS/Azure via each respective marketplace are scanned for malware before publishing. I was able to find some documentation on the AWS side stating that there is a self service tool that can be used in the publishing of images for the marketplace, but as far as I can tell this is not a mandatory step in doing so.

So yeah, any clarification into the steps taken for malware scanning etc. on the images that are published would be greatly appreciated!

There's no-one here who is involved in publishing those so I recommend that you write to the centos@centos.org mailing list (requires you to subscribe first) and ask there. If you get an answer then feel free to update this thread with it.
The future appears to be RHEL or Debian. I think I'm going Debian.

CentOS 5 and 6 are deadest, do not use them.
